Our Quality Assurance & Quality Control departments are central to our organisation, empowering our ambition to make products that meet the highest quality standards. To reach this high quality and to improve continuously, Progress Biotech has incorporated and maintains a Quality Management System (certified according to ISO 22000:2018). All company processes are monitored under strict quality management systems (e.g. ISO, BRC, IFS).

Quality statements
Various Quality aspects of our plant-based products can be confirmed with specific quality statements, based on analysis results and verification studies. Some examples of these statements are: Free of Allergens, BSE/TSE, GMO, contaminants, radioactivity, PAH’s, Mosh/Moah, Mycotoxins, Algal toxins, 3-MCPD, Glycidyl esters, Heavy metals, Dioxins, PCB’s, Pesticides, Melamine, etc.
We can also provide statements regarding microbiology, non-irradiation, product stability, composition, nutrition, and more.

Product-related quality aspects
DHA products offered by Progress Biotech have novel food registration in the EU confirmed by the European Commission. The novel food approval is supported by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and our production site for algal oil has US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) GRAS registration.

Traceability
For each type of product we offer, Progress Biotech has extensive analysis-based documentation. This allows for full traceability of the production chain, from the algae biomass to the final product. Multiple independent laboratories analyze samples at every step of the manufacturing process, guaranteeing full lot control and traceability. The product specifications and certificates of analysis are supplied with each batch. These data sheets are regularly updated to comply with new (or expected new) regulations. Our algal oil is mechanically extracted without the use of chemical solvents, guaranteeing a solvent-free product.

Certificates
Responding to market requirements Progress Biotech can supply its products with kosher and halal certificates. Because of the plant-based nature of the algal oil we can also supply vegetarian and/or vegan certificates.
